Frequently Asked Questions about My Kids Wall Art.
Q: How is shipping and processing handled?
A:
Because your final art piece by MyKidsWallArt is an original work of art and cannot be duplicated in the same way again we only send your art work via FedEx or UPS to include tracking numbers to valid United States mailing addresses. If you only have a PO Box, please contact us to discuss other delivery options such as a signature at your Post Office Box location. If you place a large order, beyond the table of shipping cost established in My Kids Wall Art's shopping cart, we may contact you about addtional shipping and handling charges, where applicable.
Q: How long do I have to send in my child’s drawing?
A:
After you make your purchase, please send your child’s drawing to us within 90 days. If you need more time, please let us know – we can accommodate!
Q: How long will it take me to receive my new painting based on my child’s design?
A:
Please allow 3-6 weeks to get your one-of-a-kind artwork once we receive your child’s drawing. For drawings that are uploaded you will receive an email confirmation that we received it.
For drawings that are mailed to us, please email us once you send it so we can look for it and then confirm receipt to you.
Q: What is your return policy?
A:
If you are not completely satisfied with your new painting, you may send it back within 14 days for a complete refund. However, you must contact us first before sending it back so that we may issue you a Return Authorization Number (RA#) and we know to look for it in the mail. We will not repaint one for you since it is an artist’s interpretation and will not look much different in style the second time around! We are pleased to refund you the original amount you paid for the painting by the same means of payment (i.e., back to the same credit card you used to purchase) – but you are responsible for the shipping cost and the painting must be returned in the same condition that you received it. You are not allowed to duplicate or sell the design in any way before returning it (please see copyright laws in Terms & Conditions.) My Kids Wall Art then retains the right to sell your returned original canvas painting to another client. (For example, at an art fair or reproduce for posters). For more information on the ownership of the final design painting please read Terms & Conditions.
Q: Who owns the final design? Can I take a digital picture of my painting and duplicate in on to notecards or make more versions of it?
A: MyKidsWallArt owns the final rendered version of your child’s design. The design is owned by Lisa Barker and My Kids Wall Art and you may not duplicate or resell your original painting in any way without the expressed written consent from Lisa Barker and My Kids Wall Art. You own the one and only original canvas painting as the sole product that you paid for, but not the design for any other purposes. Please see more information on copyright laws and licensing in Terms and Conditions. However, if you would like copies (for example, for notecards or framed prints), we may be able to arrange it for you thorugh My Kids Wall Art.
Q: How do I decide which of my child's drawings to send in?
A: Choose art work that is simple. The less busy and complex it is, the better it will translate as a finished painting. If you have a busy painting that you love,go ahead and send it in and Lisa will edit it. If your child has too many great drawings to choose from, send a few attachments via email or regular mail and Lisa B. will help you choose which one would work best for the final painting.
Q: Will I get my child's drawing back?
A: The copy of your child's art will be sent back to you. Be sure to send a copy of your child's art, not the original, just to be sure it is not lost in transit.
Q: Is my credit card information safe when I purchase on MyKidsWallArt.com?
A: Yes. Your financial information is collected via a secure and encrypted server managed by PayPal. This means that MyKidsWallArt.com does not collect your financial information directly, so we never view or have access to your credit card number.
Q: What is the difference between a flexible canvas and a stretched canvas?
A:
Well, stretched canvas is what you usually see paintings on. These have 3/4" stretcher bar sides and are not flexible. (See examples.) The roll canvas is what the canvas is before it is stretched and put on bars like a canvas banner. It lies directly on the wall and can be rolled for storage or transport. (See examples.)
Q: How do I decide what size painting to buy?
A: An old trick in the art business is to measure out the measurements given on your wall and using “Painter’s Tape”. It is the blue tape you can find almost anywhere in hardware stores or even in drugstores and big name stores. It does not stick to the wall so you can take it down easily. Once you put the tape up in the measurements it is much easier to visually see how a piece that size would work in the room and/or in the place that you are thinking about hanging it.
Q: How do I hang My Kids Wall Art canvas?
A: The smaller 18" x 24" paintings have a hanging wire or ribbon on the back that you simply hang on one nail. The 24" x 30" and 30” x 36” stretched canvas paintings have a wire, too, and you can hang those on simple hanging nails as well. The 30”x 36” flexible canvas pieces comes with grommets, which are just small holes in each corner like you see on banners (see picture here). With your canvas, you will also receive oversized good-looking colored tacks. You simply put those through the holes directly into your walls. This is a modern art look for your room.
Q: How do I care for my new My Kids Wall Art painting?
A: Your painting is painted with a final clear top coat that helps protect it from fading. This acrylic clear paint is the same material that is used on fine art pieces in galleries and museums. However, In order to assure a long life for your new art piece, you will want to take fine care of it as you would any original piece of fine art. Be gentle with it, do not hang in direct sun and do not spill anything on it.
Q: What are the products you use to paint with?
A: Lisa B. uses the same quality professional quality Liquitex, Golden & Ultrecht acrylic paints as for her high-end fine art paintings. The canvas is 100% cotton duck professional grade and your art is also painted over with a professional quality acrylic medium sealer.
